The Nottoway Tribe Pow Wow is located at the Surry Parks and Recreation Center, HWY 10 at HWY 31 at 205 Enos Farm Drive in Surry, VA 23883.
    The Tribe is located in Capron in Southampton County and parts of Surry County. Though the Nottoway and Cheroenhaka share a history, they are different tribes. These tribes became separate tribes in 2002.

    Joyce has been an active genealogist since 1985, developing a specialization in Native American genealogy. She has traced and documented her own ancestry to 485 AD - and beyond!
    "You can depend on Joyce for excellent research into your genealogy," Rene' White president of the Sanctuary on the Trail and executive director for The Gathering. Joyce partnered with Sanctuary on the Trail to be a Genealogist to help people search for the Native American ancestry.
     A $500 retainer is required to be paid to Joyce in advance before the project begins. This retainer includes the initial 10 hours of review, evaluation of the prior research material, a summary of the evaluation of the prior researching in a written client report, and a research plan. All research will be documented and provided to the client through a research log.
     Joyce is studying to get her PhD in Ministerial Studies, she is a minister and provides holistic pet care.
