The Gathering 2015 Goals Accomplished - Slide Show Below
Volunteers with The Gathering held at the Clarke county fairgrounds in Berryville Va. accomplished their four goals and more with the help of community. Close to 5,000 adults and children - red, yellow, black and white - attended the 3-day Native American Indian & Virginia Gourd Festival.
Local resident James said, "if the event had been five days, I would have attended all five days."
According to the Rene' White event executive director, this was the first traditional Harvest Dance held in the area in a very long time.
Children ran around freely, while adults shopped and visited 75+ trading post vendors and living history exhibitors. This event began with a handful of volunteers who had a vision placed on their hearts. With no money and a whole lot of F.A.I.T.H. they set out to accomplish four objectives with the help of community. "We are happy to report with the help of many, we accomplished our goals," said the event executive director Rene' White.
