If there had
been one sin left not atoned, no matter how great or small…He could not have
risen from the dead and as the Bible says the wages of Sin is death(Romans 6:23)..So the proof that He did
atone is the resurrection…for all who will believe.
Jesus was
not crucified on Friday, that is the story, but He was not crucified on Friday.
He was crucified on Wednesday (John
19:39-42). The Sabbath mentioned here was not the regular Jewish Sabbath;
it was the Passover Sabbath or the “High” Sabbath. In this particular year it
took place on a Thursday. Jesus was actually crucified on Wednesday, before the
Thursday Sabbath. His body had to be taken down, prepared, embalmed etc. before
The Sabbath day. The Jews reckoned time differently than we do now. Their day
started in the evening and ended in the morning. When the sun sat then the new day began as it
rose the day ended and it of course was the next or new day.
Jesus was
crucified at 09:00 in the morning, the exact time of the morning sacrifice; He
died at 3:00 in the afternoon, the time of the evening sacrifice. What do we
mean by this, for almost 1600 Years the Law of Moses had proclaimed that a lamb
had to be offered every morning at 09:00 for the whole of Israel and every
afternoon at 3:00 a lamb had to be offered as well? On the Sabbath which was
Saturday, two lambs had to be offered at 09:00 and two lambs had to be offered
at 3:00. Jesus was put on the cross at exactly the time of the morning sacrifice
and He died at the time of the evening sacrifice, fulfilling scripture in
totality. At Noon, the brightest time of the day the earth turned black, He died for you and me
for sinners, the creator of the Heavens and earth, condescended to come down to
this cesspool and die on a cross that I might not have to go to Hell…that
whosoever will, let him come. (Revelation
22:17) For three hours, God pulled the blinds we can say … He was
separated from His son...As Jesus for those three hours was bearing the sin
penalty of the entire human race, past – present and future. God would not hear
His prayer or give ear to Him during and for that particular three hours. as
the earth turned black, no human being saw Jesus die, no one saw Him die. It
was Holy and so sacred and in the Ninth chapter of Hebrews, when He died at
3:00, the holy Spirit told Him He could die, the Holy Spirit orchestrated the
whole event we can say honestly and He died, not of a broken heart as some say,
not from a beating, not from the thorns that were over two inches in length,
not mere briers as I heard someone say in a sermon recently. The thorns were
called “Victors’ thorns and were in fact over two inches in length and were
poisonous and would cause terrible skin rashes and introduce this toxin to the
pierced brow, forehead area of the head of the wearer causing the head to swell
almost double its size. So all the skeptics, doctors and others can take their
briers and feed them to their mules or goats and do not disrespect or diminish
what Christ actually did or how it actually spiritually worked according to the
true scriptures, history and sacred texts form which our Bible (KJV) was
written.
(John 10:18) – No man killed Jesus, He said no man takes my life … the
weight of Sin did not kill Him, a broken heart or heart attack did not kill
Him, what utter foolishness…He died when the Holy Spirit told Him He could die
and not before and for no other reason. He laid it down and He took it up again
as the Holy Spirit directed. At the end of the three hours from Noon to 3PM,
the father embraced Him again and in essence said it is done. How do I know
that, because Jesus said (Luke 23:46)
it is finished and father into your hands I commend my spirit. At that moment
in Herod’s temple the great curtain or vale that hung between the holy of
holies and the Holy place, which Josephus said that the vale was over 2000
pounds and was 30 feet tall, and 4 yoke of oxen could not pull it apart (Mark 15:38) God ripped it from
top to bottom so no one could say that it was done by crooks or sneaks saying
it is open for all to come in now and we can enter boldly because of the shed
blood of Christ (Hebrews 4:16). The ark was no longer there but it was once where
the ark was kept (Solomon’s Temple),this was symbolic of the throne of God, the
cherubim looked down on it and inside the ark was the Decalogue the tablets of
stone…and as the High Priest went in and applied the blood of a Heifer and then
the two lambs as the cherubim looked down they no longer saw the broken law
which no man has kept or can now keep, but praise God, they saw the Blood,
which represents Jesus Christ and now at the death of Christ on the cross, the
Blood(Exodus
12:13) is forever applied and no more sacrifices have to be offered.(John 1:29) During this week some
250,000 lambs were killed and their blood ran…. but now little lambs will die
no more, for Christ has made the , is the and forever shall be the final and
eternal sacrifice for our sins and if we come to him and asked to be covered,
His blood will wash away our sins also. On the cross Jesus satisfied the
demands of the broken law in totality and forever.
There were of course physical aspect to Jesus’ death and it is
important to know what He went through and how He died, but earthly minded people
who are trying to “figure it out” or “show” us often do not use the real scale
to mark the truth they instead use a scale of man or mind instead of the Bible
and sacred Historical texts and writings that have been based as accurate…so
let us not get swallowed up in this by some shallow minded doctor, the Word of
God is by far the accurate source and what we need to view anything in its
proper form. The fear of the LORD is the
beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
(Proverbs 1:7 KJV)
Jesus died
and it was not pleasant by any means and He did it for us and for any and all
who are willing to accept Him and His blood atonementand who accept the Cross….
